Muslim Brotherhood

Libya — President of the Salafium Foundation for Studies and Research Jamal Shallouf said, “The historical sequence predicts that (the Brotherhood) is a political trend that uses religion and extremist groups as a bridge to reach power, and the Libyan case will not be an exception.

Shalouf considered in a statement to Al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper that the Brotherhood (Justice and Construction) party had previously cooperated with the Mufti al-Ghariani movement, which is close to the Libyan Fighting Group during the political conflict within the outgoing General National Congress, followed by the alliance through the (Libya Dawn Coup) And the political division that followed and the war against (the army).

Shalouf said that with the “Libyan Brotherhood’s pursuit of power through new alliances, it was natural and usual to abandon the Mufti’s current (former ally) and even criminalize it and place it on the list of those obstructing the solution.”

And he concluded, “So it was not strange for this clash, which is tantamount to announcing the dissolution of the previous alliance and the change of the (Brotherhood) party for its skin that corresponds to what it considers a new way to continue in power.”
